Ring-a Ding Bakery

I finally decided to start up my own home cupcake bidness. Since Florida now allows home baking sales, I figured I might as well give it a shot. So, I'm currently in the process of taking pictures, constructing a shopping site, etc. My first cupcake that I did for the shop is a blue velvet cupcake called the Frankie. I figured everyone loves red velvet, but I wanted to do something a little different, so I made blue ones. They turned out really well and, well, there's nothing better than cream cheese icing.

They look much bluer than the picture, but they are gosh darn delicious!

Easy ass beer bread

Ok, so I admit, I totally cribbed this from Sam the Cooking Guy, but it works and it's seriously delicious.

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour
3 tbs. sugar
1 12 oz. bottle of beer, room temp. (I used Michelob's Pumpkin Spice Ale, but it really doesn't matter)

Pre-heat oven to 350. Mix together sugar and flour. Slowly add in beer. Mix everything til nice and smooth and pour in greased loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes and voila, instant awesome bread. Take loaf out of pan and place on cooling rack.

Ok, so here goes.

For whatever reason, I couldn't sleep one night, so I decided to make a blog about desserts. Sugar is a passion of mine, so I felt like sharing my obsession with the world. This isn't exactly a foodie blog. It'll be more than recipes. I absolutely love baking, but if I baked as much as I wanted, I'd be 975 lbs and stuck in a hospital bed until the paramedics cut out my living room wall. So, instead of that, I'll post the occasional recipes, pictures related to dessert, and any other awesomeness I feel like sharing.

Also, there will be a lack on fondant on this site. I am worn out with fondant cakes. Sure, they are fabulous to look at and when Ace of Cakes first aired on Food Network, I was more than impressed. However, nowadays, fondant cakes are the only thing on tv, and really a cake made out of dowel rods and gum paste just doesn't do it for me. I'd much rather look at an elegantly buttercream frosted layer cake.

Also, I saw this picture yesterday and fell in love, so I have to share.

I'd give anything to be the 1951 Donut Queen.
